LeeAnn posed for this painting. No photographs of any kind were used, from start to finish. There were several sittings, as hands and setting require some time to paint beautifully. The artist and sitter kept up a lively, amusing conversation, which is why the smiling expression is natural and characteristic of this lovely woman's personality.
Suzy Hart does not require her sitters to be absolutely still. She likes to get them talking and sharing their thoughts so that the personality can come through. The artist is not a camera, the artist interprets and chooses. This is what makes portraiture so interesting and always new.
